NFC card orders and fulfilment

Sell cards in your shop, let a paid order make the card codes for you, then print, write, test and ship them with the order's status keeping the customer informed.

1. Add an NFC product

In Add-on products, create a product (for example "10 NFC business cards") and set NFC cards to the type. Set Cards in one unit if one unit is a pack: a pack of 10 sold twice makes 20 cards.

Checkout asks the buyer for a shipping address on NFC products.

2. A paid order makes the codes

When the order is paid online, or when you press Mark paid on an invoiced order, the card codes are made automatically. They appear in Bio profiles → NFC cards as a batch named after the buyer, and the order shows a link to its QR sheet.

  • If the buyer's email matches one of your profiles (as its owner, or the email on the profile), the cards open that profile at once.
  • Otherwise the cards wait for set-up: the first tap lets the business link the card to its profile, or you link them in the CRM.
  • The customer's order page gets a note saying how many cards were made.

3. Print and write

Send the CSV and QR sheet to your printer, or print and write them yourself (see Where to buy and print NFC cards). Move the order to Being worked on so the customer sees progress.

4. Test every card

Tap each card with a phone before it ships. Every tap is counted on the card in the NFC cards tab, so a card with no taps is one you haven't tested.

5. Ship and close

  1. Move the order to Shipped and add the tracking number in the order's Messages.
  2. When it arrives, move it to Completed.
  3. Send the customer Set up your NFC card on your own domain: it explains how to link and use the cards.

After the sale

  • The business sees its cards and taps in its account, and can switch a lost card off itself.
  • You can move any card to another profile or web address, or switch it off, from the NFC cards tab. No reprinting.
