Texts go from the business's own Telnyx account and number, so the business is the sender and owns its sending reputation. You set it up for them in Bio profiles → Manage → Reviews.
1. Telnyx account and number
- The business (or you, for them) creates a Telnyx account and buys a US local number.
- In Telnyx, create a Messaging Profile and assign the number to it.
- Create an API key.
2. Register for US texting (10DLC)
US carriers block unregistered texts from local numbers. In Telnyx's portal, register the business:
- Brand: the legal business name exactly as on its EIN, the EIN, website and address. Sole proprietors without an EIN have a separate process.
- Campaign: the use case (customer care or account notifications fit review requests), sample messages and how customers agree to texts.
- Assign the number to the campaign.
Telnyx and the carriers review it; vetting usually takes a few business days, and there are small one-off and monthly carrier fees. Check Telnyx's current fees.
3. Connect it in the CRM
- In Manage → Reviews → Text invitations, paste the API key and the Telnyx number. The key is stored encrypted.
- Confirm the business has its customers' consent, turn Invitations on, and press Send test to your own phone.
- Under Invite customers, add one customer per line (name, phone), or tick Text automatically after each booking ends for businesses on our online booking.
The rules we follow for you
- Only text customers who agreed to it. You confirm consent when sending.
- At most one invitation per number every 30 days.
- Texts go out between 9am and 8pm in the business's time zone.
- Every text says "Reply STOP to opt out", and opt-outs are never texted again.
